Questions, answered
Is folk-country a real genre?
Yes — folk-country (or country-folk) blends the storytelling and acoustic simplicity of folk with country melodic conventions. Artists like John Denver and Emmylou Harris exemplify this crossover.
Which genre is better for storytelling songs?
Both excel at storytelling, but folk traditionally prioritizes narrative lyrics over catchy hooks. Country tells stories too, but within more commercially structured arrangements.
